2017 CLGO Students Finished Corporate Visit in Hangzhou

The distinguished students from CLGO 2017 had finished a series of corporate visits with the help of alumni fellows in Hangzhou on March. 23rd, 2018.
Day 1: Nisu
The first stop of this trip is Zhejiang Nisu network technology co., LTD. Wei Zhang, the senior graduated student with rich entrepreneurial experience showed students and teachers around their company campus.
Zhejiang Nisu network technology co., LTD. is a comprehensive service provider focusing on cross-border brand operation, one-stop e-commerce service and supply chain operation service. With multi-dimensional brand management system, complete international logistics service system and mature overseas online shopping market control ability, Nisu had achieved the leading position among the cross-border service providers. Nisu had set its office in Tokyo, Sydney, Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai and Zhejiang, and it also owned the online shops in those famous e-commerce platforms such as T-mall, JD, Suning at the same time. As a leading cross-border brand service provider in China, Nisu had a long-term partnership with Hong Kong retailers such as Sasa, Zhuoyue, Colourmix, as well as product supplier of the other mainstream cross-border e-commerce platforms. Nisu’s business scope also focused on the overall development of cosmetics, personal care, food, health care products and daily necessities.
Mr. Wei Zhang initially led CLGO students to visit the operation department and technical department, and then to see the exhibition room of products and companies’ awards. Wei Zhang shared his own experience in the supply chain operation and then analyzed not only the demands of foreign brands’ market access to China but also the typical operating system in the e-commerce company. During the discussion, the BBC model of Winnie supply chain management shared by Wei Zhang had greatly inspired everyone and broadened new ideas of current overseas online shopping market. In the last session, CLGO students had a discussion with him on internet entrepreneurship, overseas online shopping supply chain, customer relationship management and other issues.
Later, Wei Zhang arranged CLGO students a visit to the warehouse in the bonded area. Students saw the actual operation of Nisu’s storage system and get a better understand the supply chain details that introduced by the Wei Zhang before.
Day 2: Alibaba
CLGO students had invited the senior graduated students Liming Tang, Peng Zhao and Shun Chen from Class 2010 and 2014. They first introduced the alibaba campus and shared their learning experience in CLGO and work experience in alibaba.
Liming Tang introduced the ecological system and resources of alibaba to CLGO students, as well as the cooperation between different sectors of the entire ecosystem.
Then, Shun Chen introduced Ali-cloud project to students. Founded in 2009, Ali-cloud has two main businesses: 1. Providing IT support for various businesses within the group. 2. Leveraging the remaining computing capacity and provide technical services for various industries. What we are most familiar with is that when consumers stay up late to buy products on T-mall and Taobao on Nov.11. That’s all thanks to the Ali-clouds’ employees hard work. Ali-cloud offers the solutions according to the various business scenarios. As a product manager, his job is to transfer the sales needs into a realizable the backend development.
In the following Q&A session, three senior students had a warm interaction with the visiting students. Students have learned a lot about the business model of T-mall, neophyte and Ali-cloud.
CLGO is focusing on developing a special type of leader for China – one who can apply both managerial and engineering expertise to global manufacturing and operations for sustained profitability and success. In order to improve the students’ understanding of advanced manufacturing management, CLGO program designs many visits to the enterprises with solid reputation worldwide. The monthly plant tour is one of the most important events in this series of company visiting tours.
