Progressing! CLGO students! —— the record of CLGO students of 2018 class launching the I-Plus program on time under the epidemic situation

CLGO (China Leaders for Global Operations) is a full-time, interdisciplinary MBA Program, the first of its kind in China, jointly operated by Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), School of Mechanical Engineering (ME), School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering (SEIEE) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU),  and developed in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)  based on MIT's long-established "Leaders for Global Operations (LGO)" Program in combination with Chinese business features and management practice. It wins support and cooperation from renowned multinational and local enterprises. CLGO is designed to cultivate elites in all-round modern business management with outstanding leadership proficient in combining theory and practice in engineering and management based on superior and distinctive disciplines in engineering and management at SJTU.

In despite of the fact that the enterprises around the world are under the shadow of COVID-19 pandemic, many enterprises have been unable to resume work and production, but by June 9, 2020, the six-month I-Plus program for all 38 students at CLGO18 has been successfully launched, many companies around the world are still unable to resume work and production. There are total 19 enterprise participating in CLGO I -Plus program this time, among them , it includes 2 strategic cooperative enterprises, 10 alumni cooperative enterprises and 7 student independent enterprises. The strategic cooperative enterprises involved in the program include Apple (Apple Inc), CIMC (China International Marine Containers Co., Ltd), Zhongnan Group (Zhongnan High-Tech Hi-tech), Tiandi Hui logistics Group of alumni cooperative enterprise and etc., and the student independent enterprise includes Xiaoqi Hui, Huzhou Shengyi Copper Tube, Shuangtian Architecture and etc. There are total 38 planed programs.Through this I-Plus enterprise practice activity, the students can not only use knowledge system, help enterprises to solve the practical problems in the operation and management and etc., also can make the students changing view that is from student perspective transforms to enterprise staff perspective, To lay the foundation for their future career development and constantly practice the concept of “crisscross, knowledge-action unity” of Antai talent training of Jiaotong University.

Introduction to the I-Plus projects

1. Research on the benchmarking and countermeasures of international market competing goods of China International Marine Containers Co., Ltd Clean Energy (storage and transportation utilization) equipment

The clean energy (especially LNG liquefied natural gas) used by the traditional industry is becoming a world trend. As the world leading logistics equipment and energy equipment supplier, China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as: CIMC Group)  helps enterprises transform their energy dependence from traditional energy to clean energy, which is the mission recall of CIMC as a top enterprise in the industry. The CLGO program, which has been deeply engaged in China's manufacturing industry for many years, has advanced technology and rich industry experience in operation management process control and other aspects. The cooperation between CLGO and CIMC is undoubtedly a powerful combination, which not only brings the latest management ideas to CIMC, but also enables the practice of the latest industry research.

The project is directed by Lu Wei, Professor of Antai College of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Xiong Zhenhua and Zhang Wenguang, of School of Mechanical Engineering of Jiaotong University.

2. Tiandi Hui Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. - Design of relay drop and pull transport mode.

Tiandi Hui Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. is a leading logistics industry Internet Platform Company, dedicating to building the fourth party road logistics platform of the O2O online and offline linkage in China. At present, one of the business models of the enterprise is highway trunk dump transport, the ownership of the vehicle belongs to the carrier, the company as a platform to call their vehicles, pay them the freight, and guarantee their minimum transport mileage. However, after the complexity of business lines, the enterprise finds that in the actual transportation process, the efficiency off relay drop and pull transport becomes lower and lower and even the trailer will be empty for a long time in many cases. Because CLGO program is supported by Sino-us Logistics Research Institute of Jiaotong University, it lays a substantial foundation for the development of the project.

3. Huzhou Shengyi Copper Tube Industry Co., Ltd. - Copper alloy new material Operation Strategy research.

Founded in 1991, Huzhou Shengyi Copper Tube Industry Co., Ltd. is a production enterprise integrating smelting, extrusion, cold rolling, drawing and finishing processing for raw materials, specializing in the manufacture of high-end special purpose copper and copper alloy tube and bar materials, with the research and development and production capacity of brass, bronze, white copper, nickel, copper, silver, copper and other high-strength, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant multi-series products. However, based on the development requirements and the regional development plan of the government, the company will relocate the existing production line and introduce advanced equipment and production technology to form a production line with an annual output of 7,000 tons of precision instruments and instruments and high-end equipment copper alloy new material. After the full-time study in CLGO program, the project leader returned to the enterprise to use the courses within the knowledge framework system, including lean management, lean production and other advanced operation management knowledge, to help the enterprise better transform and develop.

The project is directed by Liu Shaoxuan, deputy dean of Antai College of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Pan Ershun of School of Mechanical Engineering of Jiaotong University.

The China Leaders for Global Operations（CLGO）program of Antai College of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, strives to cultivate the leaders who are proficient in technology and management with a global vision and a deep understanding of the Chinese market environment for China and global operations  field.
