Prof. Xiong said that since the establishment of CLGO program for 15 years, through interdisciplinary integration and school-enterprise cooperation, we have gathered together to realize the common growth of schools, enterprises and alumni. Prof Xiong hoped to listen to the suggestions on CLGO program from representatives of all parties today, so as to truly achieve all-win situation.

Yin Haitao, Associate Dean of ACEM, SJTU, proposed in his speech at the meeting that ACEM projects had all been accurately studied and judged according to market changes, and were determined to do small and beautiful programs. The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China stressed that we should focus our development on the real economy, promote new industrialization and speed up the development of a powerful country in manufacturing and quality. Based on the new development stage, the CLGO project takes management science as an important foundation, continuously and deeply cooperates with enterprises, and makes due contribution to promoting the development of China's real economy. Over the past fifteen years of CLGO project development, ACEM of SJTU has been dedicated to its original aspiration to strengthen the synergy of industry, school and research, and make efforts to promote the manufacturing through the knowledge system of management science. Associate Dean Yin hoped to fully analyze the weakness of the project through this meeting, make continuous improvement and refinement, promote the cooperation between ACEM and engineering departments, and move forward into a new stage of services for manufacturing enterprises.

Luo Jun, Associate Dean of Institute of Industry Research of ACEM, SJTU and Director of CLGO Project, made a report on the recent development and future prospects of the program. Prof. Luo mainly introduced the background and characteristics of CLGO project as well as the cooperation with the Institute of Industry Research and industry community classes. He pointed out that thanks to the consolidation of various resources, CLGO project is committed to providing sufficient space for growth and future value of sustainable development for everyone. The multi-level and multi-dimensional collaboration between SJTU and enterprises has achieved remarkable achievements and reaped many fruits, which cannot be possible without the support of alumni and corporate partners. He also hoped that everyone and all guests present at the meeting would offer insights for CLGO program from a pragmatic perspective for future outlook.

Thomas Roemer, Executive Director of MIT's LGO program, said in an online speech that the cooperation and success case between industry and academia demonstrated by the CLGO program was rarely seen in the world that truly connected academia and industries. The collaboration between MIT and SJTU was very important, which was expected for further deepening.

In the discussion and exchange session, the guests actively offered suggestions for the development of CLGO project and the college from the aspects of student source quality, evaluation standard, curriculum setting, internship activities and future cooperation mode of CLGO project, and held heated discussions on the precise adaptation between talent cultivation and industries, mutual benefit and all-win mode for school-enterprise cooperation, student source expansion of CLGO project, etc., so as to make greater progress for the program in the long run.

Yin Haitao said in his concluding remark that the CLGO project of ACEM, SJTU would adhere to three principles: First, the purpose will not be changed. The CLGO program is one of the projects, which ACEM has invested the most resources, also one of the most difficult projects for operation and one of the projects enjoying the broadest influence. It will continue to adhere to the issue-oriented approach to seek solutions, create a first-class environment based on demand orientation, and inspire innovation driver based on result orientation. Second, focus will not be changed. As an educational institution, ACEM, SJTU inherits the motto of SJTU, i.e. "when you drink water, never shall you forget its source; love your motherland and bring honor to your alma mater" and should undertake corresponding social responsibilities. It will not change the direction of leading social progress and cultivating future leaders of manufacturing industry. Third, supporting students' development will not be changed. The development of CLGO project will provide students with the largest development space and the most flexible growth freedom, which will make due efforts to provide students with sufficient resources and platforms to expand their career path of CLGOer.

"All apporaches for good results should adapt to changing times." As a century-old school, ACEM of SJTU, which has entered the second century journey, is actively developing new educational concepts and exploring new educational models under the strategic guidance of "two types of scholarship, horizontal (academic) and vertical (industry), reinforcing each other and connecting theory with practicecrisscross, integration of knowledge and action," driven by industry research and technology and finance, so as to align with national strategy, serve regional development and deliver Chinese wisdom. China Leaders for Global Operations (CLGO) of SJTU will continue to explore the development path of theoretical education, industry research and talent cultivation of business schools under the context of new technology, in order to pave the way for the country and enterprises to cultivate multi-disciplinary talents of management and technology with strong theoretical basis, excellent business capability and outstanding comprehensive quality.
