On March 20, 2023, Associate Professor Li Haigang from the Department of Information, Technology and Innovation of ACEM, Associate Professor Wu Jianhua from the School of Mechanical Engineering (attending online), and Su Qian from the Antai MBA Center were invited to Hengxin Technology to attend the kick-off meeting of the 2023 I-Plus Internship Program. Peng Yinan, Executive Director of Hengxin Technology and General Manager of Zhangyu Technology, Zhang Jiahong, Business Manager of Hengxin Technology, and Fan Jiayu, a student of 2021 CLGO, also attended the meeting. At the meeting, experts and scholars had in-depth exchanges with enterprise representatives on the content, objectives, and implementation plans of the internship program, and discussed and answered relevant questions.

Peng Yinan first introduced the development process of Zhangyu Technology, which began with university-enterprise cooperation. The company has filled the gap in information security in the field of online payments and found its own business development model through the application of digital technology security and the development of UnionPay "Quick Pass" security guarantee technology.

Li Haigang, as the faculty advisor of ACEM for this program, gave his own opinions and understanding. He believed that in view of the current issue of technology stranglehold by foreign countries, corresponding solutions need to be proposed as soon as possible. He suggested establishing an information system on a shared platform as soon as possible to help emerging semiconductor chip enterprises in China, solve the current problems in operations and development, integrate resources deeply, shorten product R&D cycles, and greatly ensure the survival of such enterprises. Subsequently, Wu Jianhua raised the issues that need to be focused on in the program content, hoping that students can analyze, survey, research, and implement solutions for a specific problem, effectively helping enterprises solve problems that arise in practical operations.

Manager Zhang Jiahong also gave a brief explanation regarding this I-Plus Internship Program. She said that the goal of this program is to sort out the current policies on integrated circuits in China and overseas; analyze the problem points of insufficient supply chain services and resource allocation in small and micro semiconductor enterprises, summarize the feasibility of building platforms of integrated circuit services and resource integration, and assist in the development of the platforms. Students participating in the internship need to be based on the integrated circuit design industry and sort out the current policies on integrated circuit in China and overseas for the goals of reducing entrepreneurial costs, improving entrepreneurial efficiency, and promoting collaborative innovation; collect and organize the problems arising from the operations of SMEs in semiconductor innovation and entrepreneurship under the implementation of Chinese and overseas policies on integrated circuits; and explore the possibility of providing standardized and open services through the platform with service system, content and price, for the above problems and one or two specific supply chain service areas, such as EDA design tools, MPW chip services, instrument sharing, IP resource pooling, engineering testing and test evaluation.

After the meeting, Su Qian presented souvenirs to the company on behalf of ACEM, and a group photo of both sides was taken.

Through this visit and exchange, Fan Jiayu, a student of 2021 CLGO, gained a comprehensive understanding of the direction of future program development, and a clear understanding of the objectives and implementation plan of the internship program. Meanwhile, this exchange has greatly benefited both the university and the company, strengthened the closeness of university-enterprise cooperation, and promoted the in-depth development of industry-university-research cooperation.

Introduction to I-Plus Internship Program:

In order to enhance students' understanding of the Chinese market and Chinese enterprises, the CLGO program collaborates with well-known Chinese and overseas enterprises. The most distinctive program is the I-Plus practice. By participating in I-Plus practice, students have gained a deeper insight into lean production and innovative management that they have learned. In the future, CLGO students and mentors will maintain contact with the enterprise and provide vitality for the long-term operation and development of the enterprise.

Every CLGO student will undergo a 6-month internship in a partner enterprise. The internship starts in March of CLGO students' second academic year and lasts until August. The objectives of internship include:

● To provide unique educational experiences to expand students' knowledge in manufacturing and operation

● To expose students to real problems in manufacturing and operation through teamwork and integration of knowledge from various disciplines

● To generate general and special results in engineering and management through internship program and papers

● To support research activities of common concern of internship companies and CLGO

● To strengthen the partnership between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and internship enterprises

● To help enterprises achieve excellence in manufacturing and operation

Two teachers from the School of Mechanical Engineering/School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering/Sino-US Global Logistics Institute and Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the internship supervisor sent by the management of the internship enterprise, will serve as mentors for the students, to jointly guide the students and provide academic and practical assistance during the period of internship. The internship program provides a foundation for every student's thesis writing.
