On April 12, 2023, led by Cao Yufeng, the academic director of the CLGO program of ACEM, the group of teachers including Shao Xiaofeng from the Department of Management Science of ACEM, Pan Ershun from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Shen Yao from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Chen Feng and Zheng Junli from the Dong Haoyun Intelligent Manufacturing and Service Management Institute, and Su Qian from the Antai MBA Center were invited to visit Gentco Logistics and attend the kick-off meeting of the 2023 I-Plus Enterprise Internship Program. Guan Xia, Deputy General Manager of Gentco Logistics, Zhang Fei, Deputy Manager of Asset Management Department, Sun Hailin, Technical Director of Information Technology Department, Yang Li, Senior Manager of Human Resources Department, as well as four students of 2021 CLGO, Cao Zhengda, Wang Hao, Fang Rong, and Li Zihao, also attended the meeting. At the meeting, experts and scholars had in-depth exchanges with enterprise representatives on the content, objectives, and implementation plans of the internship program, and discussed and answered relevant questions.

Firstly, Guan Xia introduced the development process of Gentco Logistics on behalf of the company. The company was founded in 1994 with a registered capital of 2.05 billion yuan and is affiliated with Inner Mongolia Gentco Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd. After years of development, the company has become a globally renowned liquid chemical logistics service provider, with business scope covering liquid chemical shipping, container tanks, storage tank terminals, etc. As of the end of 2021, the company had total assets of 13.89 billion yuan, and achieved an operating income of 6.44 billion yuan and a net profit of 380 million yuan. Under the guidance of the national policy on "the Belt and Road", the company continues to optimize the global business network, and provides safe, professional and convenient liquid chemical logistics services for global customers with scientific and efficient professional management. In the future, the company is committed to becoming the world's most competitive liquid chemical logistics service provider.

Then, the attending teachers put forward their own ideas and understandings regarding Guan's introduction to the company. Teacher Chen Feng believed that given the current low utilization rate of corporate data, it is necessary to establish a data-driven platform based on the actual situation of the company as soon as possible. Teacher Pan Ershun also raised the issue of internal and external shipping, hoping that students can analyze, survey, research, and implement solutions for a specific problem, to effectively help enterprises solve problems that arise in practical operations. The teachers spoke one after another and the university and the company had a deep and thorough exchange. After a brief introduction and communication, Guan led the teachers to visit the office together.

Finally, a group photo of both sides was taken as a souvenir. The mentors and student members of the four major projects formed a group to communicate and discuss the difficulties and problems they have encountered, and everyone gained a lot.

After this visit and exchange, the four 2021 CLGO students participating in the project have gained a comprehensive understanding of the direction of future project development, and a clear understanding of the objectives and implementation plan of the internship program. Meanwhile, this exchange has greatly benefited both the university and the company, strengthened the closeness of university-enterprise cooperation, and promoted the in-depth development of industry-university-research cooperation.
